Weekly Writing in October 2017 – Week 4

RevolutionofLove.com - logo_weekly_writing_2

Welcome to Week 4 of Weekly Writing in October! Last week got away from me and I missed making a post but I’ll make it for this week. 😉  How is your posting this month going so far?

* * * * *

The details:

During October many bloggers participate in the Write 31 Days Challenge . I’ve participated in the past three years but this year I am unable to join. Instead I’m making a more realistic challenge for myself – post once a week in the month of October.

If you’d like to join along, you are more than welcome! This is the chance for you to clean out your draft folder and finish up those posts you started but never finished. Or it is the opportunity to share about a subject that has been on your mind lately. Each Sunday of October I’ll have the new link-up and available for the remainder of the week. For more details and instructions, see below. If you haven’t started from the beginning, no worries. Jump in whenever you can.

I look forward to visiting your blogs and reading your posts over the next month.

Have fun and happy writing!

Weekly Writing in October 2016 Link-up – Bonus Week 5

RevolutionofLove.com - logo_weekly_writing_2

Welcome to the Weekly Writing in October Challenge – Bonus Week 5! There are only three days left in the month so this is a bonus week for you to share your posts. A big thanks to all of you who linked up over this month. And a big thanks to the readers who read and commented on our posts. 🙂

If you didn’t get a chance to link-up last week, hop in this week. The main thing, as bloggers, is to work our writing muscles and share a bit of our hearts to our readers. You can get more info and read the introductory post here.

If, like me, you are also participating in the 31 Day Challenge, feel free to link up your favorite post of the week. And since today I am grateful for other bloggers who are posting more often this month, I am counting this post as my 31 Days of Gratitude (Day 29) post. 😉

The Weekly Writing Challenge main page is here.

Have a great week! 🙂

31 Days of Gratitude (Day 28): Five Minute Friday – Eat

coffee-600x600

Happy Friday! Today is Day 28 of #write31days challenge and my 31 Days of Gratitude 2016. I am so close to the finish line of writing for 31 days straight but I’ll admit that I am losing steam with this busy week. But I can stop for a few minutes to participate in Five Minute Friday. The theme this week is EAT.

The rule is to write 5-minutes straight about the topic of the day, more specifically, as the blog states, “This is meant to be a free write, which means: no editing, no over-thinking, no worrying about perfect grammar or punctuation. Just write.” Okay, setting the timer and go…

Eating is more than just an act of nourishing the body. For me, it is a time to connect with those I love as we share a meal together.

The other day one of my sons asked why he couldn’t eat dinner in his room and watch a movie every night. I told him he was allowed to do that once as a Friday night treat since he and his brothers were having a “sleep over” party but the norm is that we all eat together as a family. Eating dinner together is the chance for the six of us to connect with one another after a long day. We have a tradition that every evening after saying grace, we each share something about our day.

For the younger ones, it is also part show and tell as they have props to share with their stores – the book they got at library that day, the picture they made in art class or the A paper they received. Sometimes, this sharing while we eat is really sweet or causes us all to laugh at a funny story and sometimes Brian and I spend more time getting the boys to take turns and act appropriately at the table but I still think it is worth it.

It’s just a little tradition but it’s important that the kids learn that eating is more than just feeding the body, it is also a time for fellowship and connecting as a family.

STOP.

That  one was a little more difficult. I wasn’t sure what to write! LOL.

For the food on our table and the conversation we share, I am truly grateful. 🙂

Have a great Friday! Don’t forget today is the last day to link-up for Weekly Writing (Week 4) in October. (If you are doing 31 Days, just add your favorite post.) The new link-up for the Bonus Week 5 will be up tomorrow morning.
