6/2/04 – What’s your favorite Catholic movie?

projector.jpg
A Catholic publication was asking its readers to submit their top three Catholic movies.
It got us to thinking what our top three would be. Here are our picks.
Bobbi (How can I narrow it down? Here are five I love but I know there will be more as I think about it.)
The Passion of the Christ (Coming on DVD in Aug.)
Lord of the Rings (Does that count as “Catholic”?)
The Song of Bernadette
The Keys of the Kingdom
The Sound of Music
Brian:
The Reluctant Saint (St. Joseph Cupertino)
The Song of Bernadette
Come to the Stable
Bella
Francesco’s Friendly World: The Last Stone
Francesco’s Friendly World – The Broken Cross
Day the Sun Danced:Story of Fatima (CCC)

Narrowing it down to one is pretty tough! The one I most enjoy is Trouble with Angels. If my children are watching it, I usually stop and take in at least 15 minutes of it. They laugh, because I still cry when Sister Ligouri dies. The ending is wonderful. And the recurring theme music just does something for me.

Here are a few others that people suggested to me in emails:
    Going My Way w/Bing Crosby
Bells of St. Mary w/Bing Crosby
    The Miracle of Fatima (1952)

Walter, interesting. I’ve never actually watched “Trouble with Angels”. I’ll have to check it out!
